   No, they can't fall out but, fall down at the rear. On earlies (and all FCs) it is supported by only one bolt with a castle nut and a cotter pin. If there is no cotter pin, the engine will, eventually, fall down (learnt it the hard way on 1968). On lates (65-69) there are 2 bolts with special nuts, no problem if they are properly tighten.
