<VV> partial overhaul

The engine on my '63 Monza has blowback from the right bank (1,3,&5). 
The compression on the on the left bank is good and and plugs show no 
oil being burned.  I'm thinking of having just the right bank 
overhauled, rings, valves, etc.  Has anyone had experience doing just 
one side and not the other? I understand this work can be accomplished 
without dropping the engine.
