Why reinvent the wheel? Just ship the guy a tranaxle (or find one local to
the car) and have it put in. Other solutions may leave you with wheels that
tip in severely and risk the control arms, or wheels that flop over (think
windshield wipers)at just the wrong time, or a failure of the fabricated
"solution". Just tying the lower control rods together will still leave you
with a very out of shape rear suspension, BTDT. Stick a transaxle in and be
done with it. Nothing to fabricate, nothing left out, nothing left to
chance. You can probably find one for $50 to $100 or borrow one. I would
support the rear of the transaxle with a motorcycle strap through the air
intake area.
