Have I just screwed up the system by adding (about 
1/2 oz) the wrong oil?  So far it has been working just fine.  Should I 
just leave it alone?

Polyol ester is compatible with just about any AC oil!  It ain't
broke....other than you finding out just where the "Gas-Fairies" are getting
into your AC system and stealing the gas....otherwise, you've got a leak
you'd better fix!
