The most interesting thing about 1960 heads is that the fins are widely 
spaced and perpendicular to one another. These fins are also shorter and 
have less total area available for heat exchange. Unlike later heads, the 
castings have much less flash and are not in need of the deflashing but they 
are "rough" and scaly to the touch. If these heads were not made so well, I 
would not comment on it but the NOS 60 and 61 heads have the best quality of 
finish and machine work. I imagine if Tony's experience is any guide, the 60 
engines probably are subject to overheating if taxed because of the smaller 
surface area than later head designs.  I really like that flapper valve 
instead of exhaust doors!
