Cliff,
    My son and I installed a Grant wheel on his 65 Monza a few months ago.  As others have said, if you take the turn signal lever out and put the end in a vice, you can carefully bend it so it doesn't rub the wheel.  Do it a little at a time and trial fit it each time, and it will work fine.  
     As far as the rubbing, my first inclination was to file the piece down a bit, but then I decided that the easier fix was to put a couple of wahsers under where it mounts to the adapter, and then there is no rubbing.
