Mark
I think it's time to realize this isn't VV Talk, and we're not discussing politics.
So how about shelving the shrill rhetoric--save that for a trip to KOS or suchlike.
You want to stay on dial-up? I could care less. You get what you pay for.
Spend 10 minutes on a computer with High Speed Internet, and you'll pay the extra money. Nobody's calling you a cheapskate.
As for the rest of your commentary.
"PRINT IS DEAD" ---Harold Ramis as Dr Hagon Spengler, GHOSTBUSTERS, 1984.
he was right then, and that was 23 years ago.
How about catching up with the rest of us?
Still have a 23 channel CB, an 8 track player in every car, Wash your clothes in a zinc tub with a washboard? That's the simile' between Dial-up and DSL-Cable internet.
Here's a better example. The BSA has gone to a fully web-based registration (Re-charter) system. I had a leader do the entire charter for her Cub Scout Pack online, but her dial-up would time out when she tried to send the package to National through her connection. She called me. I have 2 meg. Cable internet with Charter (29.99 a month) AND WORTH EVERY PENNY OF IT.
I loaded her login and passcode, hit Transmit and it sent in less than 2 seconds.
Her dial up took 22 minutes, then timed out.
Finally, Mark I'm a little surprised at your use of a derogatory epithet in this forum. Liberals are supposed to be TOLERANT OF OTHERS. Tolerant of Race, Gender, Religious expression, and sexual orientation. If someone made a reference to someone's sexual orientation, you wouldn't let it be over for a month. But GEEK just flowed out of you. Frankly, I'm appalled, especially from you.
Time to wratchet down the rhetoric, eh?
Hank
