<VV> alt. convention hotels

I recall seeing someone on her recently asking re:  alternative  
hotels/motels near the convention site but paid no attention since I have my  reservation 
@ the host hotel already but now a buddy tells me he doesn't have a  
reservation yet so if folks could give me the info. re:  alternative hotels  near-by 
I'll pass it along.  Thanks!  Private replies O.K.
