Does that number seem  remarkably low to anyone else?



Is Illinois one of those states that has a special registration for  Classic 
cars not used as daily drivers? If so, perhaps they only counted the  
"regular" registrations.
Could it be that these numbers actually indicate that there are  almost as 
many 40-ish year old Corvairs being driven as everyday transport  as there are 
much newer Yugos?
That I would have no problem believing.
