<VV> Jammed Ignition Switch

The ignition switch on my 62 Spyder jammed in the "on" position, and will not move, so I cannot start the car or turn the power off.  I have never had this happen on any other car in my life.  Further, because I cannot turn the switch to the lock position I cannot release the cylinder, so cannot remove the lock ring to remove the entire switch from the dash.  I sprayed graphite into the lock and have use various tools to try and release any tumblers that may have gotten jammed, but to no avail.

Has anyone ever had this problem and if so, how did you fix it.
