I'm always a bit surprised by the dual sidedness of this. Most  
Americans seem to be disappointed enough in the American product to  
buy a foreign car but not motivated enough to make the product itself  
better. After renting an American last year I was happy by it's  
comfort and it drove okay but the general build and feel are not that  
good to be honest. I also think it's not just the build quality but  
mainly the choice for inferior materials during the design that is  
part of the problem. Maybe share holders have a little to much  
influence and there is not enough long term strategie. Just a strong  
focus on the short term profit (or what's left of that...)
