I've looked at current ghetto-ride wire wheels in the stores, which 
claim to be tubeless, and all I saw was what appeared to be a 2" wide 
thick bead of RTV around the inside of the rim, covering the ends of 
the spokes.     I imagine anyone with some similar caulk could seal 
up the inside of the rim and run tubeless.
