just a thought on gas heaters. mine in the rampy was always working very
well...until i got some "bad gas" in troy ny on a trip. after that i had a tough
time with it , not shutting off . i pulled the grille and plugged the line to
get it home without burning rampy to the ground(it put on quite a show when
the heater kept burning raw gas after shut off). anyhow bad back and all , i
pulled it and put in a new old stock burner repair kit. the shut off is a steel
part with a rubber tip. well it worked ok about once, then i had to plug the
gas line again. i now just put in a new kit from clarks. made much more
recently. the rubber tip on the gas valve is much softer and works very good now. so
watch those "nos" kits. the tip is too hard to seal properly.Oh and dont
forget to replace that real small (less that 3/8") screen hidden under the fuel
inlet fitting on the burner, its easy to overlook and a pain to do but makes a
big difference in your heat output. thats my desertation on gas heaters for
now , hope it helps someone out. r and r of a fc gas heater is very hard on the
back! but the heat is wonderfull!
regards, tim colson
