Anyone know where the pink wire hooks into that single wire coming from the
brake light switch?
Thanks,

Richard - The brake light on the Corvair, like many cars of the 60's is also
a turn signal light. You can use this to your advantage. Both brake lights
are fed current when you step on the brakes - but before it gets to the bulb,
the circuit feeds current through the turn signal assembly in the column.
This is so if you are sitting at an intersection with the brakes on and you
switch on your turn signal, it will break into the feed to the brake light and
blink - independent of the brake light circuit. The turn signal flasher feeds a
different 12 volt feed to the filament through the switch. So first, does
that filament light up with the turn signal turned on (and the ignition on, I
believe)? And does the front turn signal on that side work? If the rear turn
light turns on, the problem is before or at the turn signal switch. If it does
not light up when the turn signal is switched on, the problem is at the
switch OR after it. Most likely, after it, between the switch and the rear
bulb.If the front turn signal works, but the rear doesn't, that kind-of indicates
the switch is okay, and you should trace down the wiring - Seth Emerson
