<VV> Block top Cover Leaks

Here's a pic of a proudly bolted crankcase baffle, sorry, it's only a shot
of the top of the cover though.

>From what I recall, GM started making the baffles thicker because they
tended to crack installed in the stock manner between the louvered slots.  I
use the thicker baffle and 6 thicker 5/16 bolts instead of 4 to spread the
load out better and support the baffle.  I also use all metal locknuts so it
ain't going no where.  Been running these for years, none have cracked, come
apart etc.  For me, I know they work and eliminate seepage.  Like alot of
things in this hobby, lots of different opinions, ways of doing things and
means to an end and in the end, you have to please yourself!

BTW, I hate Permatex Aviation 3 sealant.....sorry Lon :)   It's just that
someone, one time, used it all over the o-rings on an engine I was working
on.  That took forever to get off the block and heads since it was baked on.
