JR,
Right ! Those heater hoses come loose and do all sorts of damage !
I once had a heater hose hanging loosely over the half-shaft, and it
actually sawed (!) through the shaft and caused the wheel to collapse ! That
was a shocker !!!
The heater hose just rubbed right through the spinning axle ! Yikes !
Anyway, yes, there are so many things can go awry in 40 years, that it's a
good idea to look at everything even close to electrical items, especially
unfused things, like the starter / solenoid, etc.
