<VV> Ignition Questions

Thanks Frank (and others who replied)

WARNING - NON-CORVAIR MATERIAL FOLLOWS....I'm actually trying to diagnose an
ignition problem on a Mercruiser 230 HP (aka GM 305 V8) marine motor, circa
1981 and when I first mentioned what I called the "dual ignition feeds" I
was told it was only a Corvair thing. I just finished checking and sure
enough the plus side of the coil has two wires, one from the solenoid and
one from the ignition switch.

I'm fairly certain the ignition system is not getting juice when the
ignition key is on the start position.

Corvair knowledge pays off in strange ways!

Bob

Answer to 3)

Very common on Ford and GM cars. Look for the extra ternminal on the
solenoid. The Ford solenoid on the fender will have two small terminals.

Chrysler? Hey Tony!
