Good evening all:

The other day I was sniped on an e-bay auction for a February 1963 copy of
Hot Rod magazine. The reason I was interested was the cover picture of an
8-carb Corvair engine. Other than a picture I have nothing. Would any of you
folks know anything about it?

Thanks.

Yes - That was the photo of the motor with the 8 Dellorto Motorcycle carbs.
Very Pretty, but probably undrivable. Another photo of Bob D'Olivo's Corvair
motor, with 2 side-draft Webers feeding dual ported heads (Probably a Thomas
conversion) also made HotRod. D'Olivo admitted later that this motor was
absolutely un-drivable. I've driven a car with four large Venturis and no
progressive linkage! Horrible under about 3500 RPM. - Seth Emerson
