<VV> Generator Field Terminal connection - Help!

The threads on my generator field terminal are stripped. I have a new terminal (with a slot in the end where the field coil wire attaches) but I don't know how to remove the old one, or how to attach the field wire to the new terminal. 
   
  Has anyone done this?  Can you advise me?
