 Hmmm. On looking at it again I wonder what he really did. I though the dark gray (black?) dome on the side of the transaxel was the modulator. In a normal configuration, the modulator is on the right side of the PG. If this is the modulator and the engine is in the correct relationship to the transaxel, the modulator is on the left side of the PG. However, looking more closely I see the bottom of the PG pan in the correct location. And a long rod appears to be going from the throttle linkage to the bell crank on the correct side. I wish I had a couple of other engine shots that clearly showed the left side. But I suspect that, as others have pointed out, this is most likely a flipped R&P.

It certainly does not look flipped to me. I thought it was using a 
reverse cut R&P or reverse engine? Interested in how it was done as 
someday I want to build a mid engine Vair with stock motor.
