<VV> VV Cold draft above kick panels

It is extremely difficult to seal up coupe vents... I've most often used
windshield mounting ribbon, but have also used seam sealer... but the
difficulty is getting the center bolted down tightly. I found it more
effective to pull the vents and block the hole up with plastic for the
winter.
Most effective was upgrading to a set of convertible 2 piece vents...
MUCH easier to seal. You can use them "as is" like I do (recognizing
that the bottom contour doesn't quite match the coupe or sedan rails) or
modify your 1 piece coupe panels to accept the center portion from the
vert panel.
In my experience, getting these sealed up tight is the #1 way to improve
a Corvair heater... if they leak the best heaters can't compete.
Good luck!

Upon removing the panels I found none of the usual white sticky putty that is normally around the vent. I am not sure if this stuff is still available and the parts store guy just gives me the "deer in the headlights" look (probably thinking...the wierd corvair guy looking for something no body else ever needs....)
