With all of the discussion of timing connecting the light to different 
cylinders I got out the 30 yar old chrome Craftsman light with the advance 
dial and  tried different cylinders:
Cyl #1 timed at 14 degrees BTDC.
Cyl #6 could not find the mark  no how no way
Cyl #2 read 4 degrees retarded from #1 at 1500 rpm/ 3 degrees at 600 rpm 
(11 degrees BTDC)

This is a 66 110/PG, good distributor (checked out) , Pertronix II 
Flamethrower II so no points load on shaft and does not make a lot of 
sense. Has anyone seen this before ?
