<VV> Mike Harrison Svc Held

A very nice standing room only service was held for Mike Harrison in Gaithersburg, MD last Monday am. The family provided a very nice luncheon at the Golden Bull restaurant after the services. Many from Group Corvair attended along with many others; neighbors and friends. Ward Bourgondien drove up from Florida.  

As we often find out, many of the Corvair family have experiences that are quite diverse.  Mike was a degreed engineer, a member of Tau Beta Pi, the Engineering Honorary. It is quite an honor to be selected. He had a metallic gray Crown V8 car second only to Rick Norris' and now, third to Frank Parker's NS V8.  He garaged it into Group Red, to improve it. He was constantly working on it to enhance it; for example, centering the engine and drivetrain for better balance.. Dave Proctor and Dave Edsinger were working with him to finish it. Mike and Dave P. helped Dave Edsinger get one of his Stingers ready for both the Nelson Ledges Stinger Reunion and the National Convention and autocross. Mike, a 30+ year member of Group Corvair, was a past chair of Nat'l Corvair Committees, attended many National Conventions, both Performance Workshops in Dayton OH, the Stinger Reunion and Racers' Reunions as far away from Maryland as BlackHawk Farms Raceway in S. Beloit IL. Quite a guy.
