When the Corvair Museum was in Richmond, VA, we had one of those Copper
Cooled Chevrolet engines on display. It was definately 4 cylinder.

Did it make it to the new museum?

BTW, Chevrolet first V-8 was in 1917 IIRC.

The Charles "boss" Kettering design used forced air to cool the engine, but the copper fins separated from the cast-iron cylinders. Out of the 759 produced, only about 100 were sold ...and they were recalled."

I haven't found any more information on the copper-finned, air cooled, Chebby, and it's a fascinating concept. Is anyone on the list old enough to shed some light on this engine and how it worked?
