<VV>Corvair not only aircooled Chevy

The Corvair lore that I've absorbed goes something like, "it's the only aircooled, rear engined, American car ever built,"  and aside from the Franklin, I was assuming it was the only aircooled Chevy ever built.
   
  Then I came across this quote in "Old Cars" magazine, "However one dud landed in 1923 with the 1924 Series C, with the copper-cooled four cylinder engine. The Charles "boss" Kettering design used forced air to cool the engine, but the copper fins separated from the cast-iron cylinders. Out of the 759 produced, only about 100 were sold ...and they were recalled."
   
  I confess I've never ever heard of an aircooled Chevrolet aside from the Corvair, so this statement gave me an "aww shucks" moment. I haven't found any more information on the copper-finned, air cooled, Chebby, and it's a fascinating concept. Is anyone on the list old enough to shed some light on this engine and how it worked?
