"The competition between automobile manufacturers for sales of their products sometimes has some unexpected results. Chevrolet’s rear-engine Corvair revealed a market for a relatively cheap sporty car — specifically their Corvair Monza with bucket seats showed the way to the competition."

I have seen in print from a few sources now that the Corvair was the driving (no pun intended) force that "revealed a market for a relatively cheap sporty car" and the resulting "Pony Car" wars era that followed.

And although GM abandoned it, the Corvair still persists to exist and compete and win at the car shows as well as the race track.

  Vairy truly yours,
