Subject: <VV> Can We Get a Correct Corvair Article Published?
"...Dear Mike:
Thanks for the feedback. I've received many emails such as yours. So
perhaps
a story is in order examining whether the Corvair received (unfairly) a bad
reputation? I'll pitch such a story to my editor. In the mean time, thank
you
for the insight.
All the best,
David Menzies..."
I wrote Mr. Menzies concerning his misguided article, appearing recently in
the National Post
(http://www.canada.com/nationalpost/news/driving/story.html?id=f52edef3-d58c
-
4eae-9e56-34586fe5cd3a), whereas he repeated all the old stuff about
Corvairs flipping over nearly standing still, blah. blah, blah... I cited
the NHTSA
and subsequent study, both exonerating Corvair handling. Much to my
surprise,
and pleasure, he wrote back (per above) with an open mind. If enough of us
continue to write him, and his editor, there might actually be
published--for
once in my recollection, at least--the truth about Corvair handling.
Contact Mr. Menzies at: d.menzies at sympatico.ca I suspect writing
him explaining you are simply trying to help him understand the truth
(rather
than flaming him), might net the best results.
Mike Mauro
