Hi Bill ,and everybody,
Here are the photos of my 1962 Monza's trunk to show that the trunk was
designed to accommodate the then existing Sampsonite luggage.

Just click on this link provided thru curtesy of Matt Nall to see the photos.

In Photo1 you will note the two raised portions at the bottom of the trunk.
Photo 2 shows how the large standard Sampsonite suitcase, circa 1960, fits
exactly in the place provided by the Chev designers. Photo3 shows how the medium
size standard Sampsonite suitcase (again circa 1960) fits right in front
of the first suitcase. Photo4 is another shot of the two suitcases. Note how
they fit together just as the designers intended. Note also how the curved
portion of the trunk floor at the very front just allows the smaller suitcase to
rest on the floor while preventing it from sliding forward.

Again, please note that the trunk was designed to accommodate existing
suitcases and not the other way around. Other EMs may have the same trunk
configuration. The 1960 with its concave front end probably touched the smaller
suitcase inside.

Regards,
Bob Helt
