<VV> intermittent spark

Whoa Padgett.
The condenser is the one INSIDE the distributor; necessary for spark 
production. The EXTERNAL one is for radio noise supression, and I agree, 
that can be disconnected. Disconnecting the INSIDE cap; you'll get NO spark.
