I can tell you that there is at least one variation running around WI
and I had 3 variations (FNADER1, FNADER2, FNADER3) in IL. No spaces in
any of them though.
When I ordered mine in IL, the guy at the DMV was a real car guy (pretty
unusual, huh?) and when he saw the order he just roared with laughter.
He said "there is a whole group of little old ladies down in Springfield
whose only job is to keep tags like these from being issued... but they
don't know automotive history and this will slide right by...."
I'm not a big fan of "political" plates, but on a Corvair it seems to be
poetic justice. Unfortunately, I don't think you have good grounds for
an appeal.
Personalized plates are too dear in MD, so I run anonymously here. ;-)
