Check the several screws that hold stuff to the turkey roaster for a bit long length. I rebuilt an engine years ago and it ran very well till I had enough miles to wind it up in first gear. when I got to bout 5,000+ rpm a god awful noise from the engine. I did it twice, and it wasn't too loud the second time.
The diagnosis was (as attested to the groove cut in the Mag fan blades) at high RPM the fan pulls the turkey roaster down a bit and the lomger screws contact the fan.

Gotta interesting sound eminating from the blower fan. Something is hitting the blades or the blades are hitting something. Intermittant but more predictable at hi revs. Bearing is solid. Ideas??
