I'm with you JR, I always leave the negative slightly loose on terminals 
with nuts. Of course the spring clamp terminals are usually already 
slightly loose!

Nothing worse than looking for a wrench when something electrical goes 
wrong and the smoke is rolling.

I also use grease on the posts with the loose terminal nuts, but twist 
the terminal on until it is tight, but removable by hand.

Of course the newer GM's I have with side terminals do not work with 
loose screws! They have to be tight. Especially the diesel's. ;-)
