The Highways magazine is the official publication for The Good Sam Club and specifcally is for those who love to travel in some form of rv whether it is a trailer, 5th wheel or motorhome. They are celebrating their 40th anniversary with the June 2006 issue and Bob Livingston ( RV TV fame) writes their Tech Topics column. Part of the celebration is to reprint some of the articles and issues that were printed in 1966. One that Bob reprinted discusses how camping and travelling is changing from campers and tents to trailers and motorhomes. The Ultra Van was recommended by him for being a streamlined fuel efficient motorhome powered by a Corvair 140 hp engine. He even recommends upgrading to the luxury model that comes with modern amenities like 15,000 btu furnace, gas refrigerator, 3 burner stove and two 12 volt batteries to supply ample power for the water pump and lights. It is a good article that even goes on to say if it is too flashy for you, check out the Winnebago and other well known rv's.
Just thought that some of you Ultra Van owners may have missed this.
