In addition to the points plate and points themselves, also check the 
wire between the coil and the points.  It flexes just where it enters 
the distributor from the points plate movement as it advances and 
retards and the copper wires sometimes break inside the 
insulation.  This is particularly common when the insulation hardens 
and forces all the flexing to occur right at the entry point.
