Hello, All,
Other than for the purpose of being historically correct, why
would you want to use a vented battery? Wouldn't it be appropriate to
make use of the modern technology available in Sealed Lead Acid (SLA)
batteries? As far as I know, they are identical as far as the
electrical system is concerned, are much less likely to leak, are often
lighter in weight &/or smaller in size for a given CCA rating, and most
important of all, they don't give off any of those corrosion-causing
acid fumes. I can see the point of using a historically correct
battery for a concourse car, but otherwise I don't get it. Is there a
really good reason? Can someone please explain?
