Newer being 1970's ? Know my '78 had that. Or was that the reverse
interlock (and if you see a 70's GM with the backup lights on alla time
it's a manual transmission car). Almost as debilitating as a NSSS (Neutral
Start Safety Switch)
Like when my dimmer switch failed, all I needed to get home safely was a
paper clip and some electrical tape.
Newest thing seems to be the need to depress the brake to get an automatic
out of Park. We really needed that.
