Ryan,
There's no need to remove and reinstall the distributor. Just loosen
the hold-down bolt and rotate the distributor until your timing light
shows that you've got it where you want it. The only time you would
need to remove the distributor is if the vacuum advance is too close to
the fan belt and that expensive little rubber boot is getting shredded.

So, I follow directions in the book and directions per

I have my timing set at like maybe 4 BTDC right
now...I have to take my distributor out and move to 14
BTDC and re-install right? not just move it...cause
I'm retarding and advancing from 4 if I just move the
distributor, yes?
