1    Of course the Balance tube helped!    You could've just plugged both 
carbs...

2  YES  Condensation.....you ARE in the Frozen North!   Warmed up garage???

3    Check that DASH GROUND strap to the left of the steering column.

4     Your Bachup switch is bad??   disconnect  one of the wires....or were 
you in reverse????   gggg
