<VV> So now that I have it running...

That is one of the strongest smelling engines I've
ever smelled.

I have a bunch of weird quirky things happening.

First off, I created a blanace tube to work for
now...I used some ld gas line that was in really good
shape, and bent it in a nice C-type shape...and used
rubber hose for the connections-it really helped a lot
to get my car to idle.

So.

I just made another post about having excessive
blow-by, and wondering hoe a leakdown test has
anything to do with blow-by. maybe that means the
rings are bad?

I seem to have water coming out of the pCV tube along
with that exhaust...just condensation?

Here's the tricky one.

Wiring.

When I turn the key to "on" I get the Gen/Fan and the
temp pressure light come on as they should, then goes
of right away.

So far so good.

But here's where it gets weird.

when the car is running, and the dimmer switch is
anywhere in the dimming range besides all the way
down(off) or in the always on position weird things
happen.

for one, when the dimmer switch is somewhere in that
range, my tach does not work at all. But, if I turn
the dimmer switch all the way down (all the way
clockwise, so the lights are at their dimmest.) the
tach works perfectly.

so.

There is also a light that comes on when the engine is
running. it's a gray wired light-one that should only
be on when the parking or driving lights are on, I
would assume... if I turn the dimmer switch to the
always on position, that light stays on.

Mind you, this light ONLY comes on if the car is
running-it doesn't come on when the key is merely in
the on position.

To make matters worse, my REAR parking lights are also
on when the car is running, but ONLY then...otherwise
they are off.

am I missing something here? I know it's all in the
dash as far as this whole problem goes, because my
main and engine comp harnesses are both brandy new
(well, the main one is perfect NOS, actually.) so I
doubt either of those would be having any problems.

Thoughts? answers? SOMETHING?!
