The removeable hardtop was produced by an aftermarket supplier for the Corvair and other GM convertibles. A former Cincinnati club member had one on his car that had been bought new by his father-in-law. I also saw one at the Corvair Ranch last year.  I've also seen a '62(?) Bonneville that had one. I don't know how many were made but I'd say they are pretty rare.
