Guus, any chance you have a partially plugged muffler or turbo?  If the 
exaust back-pressure became excessive, that would cause things to heat-up.

Air-recirculation plate near oil cooler closed?  Cooler clean on top? 
Lacking rear shroud by balancer could be an issue.  

Idling at 300 sounds high but most likely a calibration issue.  FWIW, my 
hot-idle is 250 and 70 MPH cruise is 300 (325 if it's really hot, 80-100F ambient) 
(Three cars, all 140 hp)  

Convertibles run higher if the top is down, BTW
