<VV> 140 Governor Speeds

Hi all
  I have a question about the use of a 140 trans governor. From what I  have 
read I can get more rpm's and speed at the point when it shifts from low  into 
high gear, but will I get more rpm's and speed when leaving it in low range  
only??
  This is for my GEEZER autocross car with a 110 engine. I'm trying to  get a 
racers edge to show the LM's that us EM's can race also even if we  don't 
race in the same class.
