Terry, the answer may depend on the club's desires and the wishes of the donor.  My local club, NJACE, has over the years had five cars donated to it.  Having no desire to own a "club car," we sold four of them and parted out the fifth.  In accordance with the wishes of the donors, in three of these five cases we donated the proceeds to the CPF.  In fact, we received one of these cars as agent for the CPF, so that the donor could take the appropriate tax deduction.
