Nope.. should work just fine ... perhaps your new wheels are not quite
perfect for the 195 x 13 x 70. Sounds like they just touch a little, so the
185 should touch either almost none, or none for sure.

Unless you really load the car up and the trunk, usually the front end is
loaded lighter anyway, and less rubber is needed anyway.

My best handling corvair had 195 x 70 x 13 on the rear, and 185 x 60 x 13 on
the front .... what I really liked was a slightly visible rake to the front,
got rid of that " motor boat at full throttle" look that saggy spring
corvairs tend to acquire (g).
Those 60 series tires I used on the front did look a little lonely in the
front wheelwells of that late model, however, I thought it worth it.
