Being a classless kinda guy, I don't have an all-Corvair family, my stable
includes some German stuff, a 65 Vette, and the occasional Resto-rod. My latest
showed up yesterday, a '95 Audi S6 Quatto wagon (aka "S6 Avant). Whoa
there's hope for those Lakewoods yet - factory rated Hp from the little 2.2L is 227
net hp. This one has been chipped, piped, and gated to 300 net hp -
Wheee-baaah! Can you imagine a Lakewood with 300 hp from a 134 cubic inch engine? This
is the first car I've ever had the nerve to buy off the internet - mostly I
developed a sense of the honesty of the PO after the auction closed (not
meeting his reserve). Once I started feeling good about the PO, I stepped up to
something approaching the real value of the car (they are very rare). FYI Audi
fans made such a ruckus when the 20 valve 2.2 was replaced by a V6 in '92 that
Audi brought the engine back into production after being gone for 4 years and
started their go-fast "S" versions with it. (Kinda like a Spyder is to a
Corvair) The lastest "S" car is the little S4, smaller than a Corvair, with about
420 hp stock (from a 40V V8) and chips to around 500 hp! Lotsa fun. Only
problem is that it's TICKET RED!

Anybody want to buy a nearly pristine Audi V8 Quattro? About the same price
as a nice Monza.
