2 out of 3 ...;;; if you want cheap and yet fast "spool-up" .... look into a
turbo from the earlier ( 1990-92 or 3 or 4 ??? ) Mitsubishi Eagle Talons
... they blow 200 horses forever, and turbine A/R is something like 0.47
.... There are tons of them on ebay, at about $250 for a good one, and
probably $100 if you unbolt one at your local wrecking yard.

This thing will spool up on a corvair at something around 2000 rpm, so
B-CAREFUL. With power comes responsibility.

Oh, the small turbine side will also clog up the exhaust side and affect
fuel mileage ... which brings up the fact that the stock Ray-Jay on the
corvair is really kind of well matched, good top end power in 3rd and 4th
( if you stick on a 2 inch SU ) ... and yet the 0.7 A/R doesnt clog up the
exhaust too much. Also consider that little fast spooling Mitsu turbo is
going to be working its guts out and will be running hotter ( probably )
than the Ray-Jay, so the vair engine is gonna heat up even more ... part of
the trade-off.

sigh ...Always those dang trade-offs !!!

good luck, ken at deltawerkes
