UPDATE:

The girls have picked up a passenger AND have experienced their first 
serious mechanical failure... they boiled the fluid in the rear brakes 
on the "Lost Coast" but where able to make it into their hotel... and I 
discovered a brake place within walking distance... so they are having 
the rear brakes redone without even having to get dirty... though they 
had the necessary parts (if not quite the expertise) to do it themselves 
had they been forced to... the place even had a resident "VW guy"...

Lots of new pictures added, a section on specifics dealing with The 
Whale added, and a car corral of interesting automotive sightings 
they've had.
