<VV> lens polishing? No Corvair

Hi,
Just wondering if anyone has tried to polish and restore their 90's era
plastic headlights? I saw a kit
at NAPA that is supposed to make them "like new again". It appears to have
different grits of polishing 
compound. My dad's '95 Cougar lights are almost yellow now, and
replacements are $100 each.
