I had a 61 8-door in the late 70s...below is the only picture of it I can find:

Somewhere I have a picture showing both sets of side doors open and a shot of my 66 thru the doors.
If I remember correctly, it had windows in the back "barn doors" and definitely not in either of the side doors. Unfortunately, my parents got tired of it sitting around while I was at school and gave it away to someone south of Jackson TN. My understanding is that he did restore it, but I've never heard anything since.
