Agree! Why chop up the car. How about just getting a boom box and some
little speakers and put the speakers behind the front seats.

now, i've got a question -- why cut the panels in the first place? why
can't one just mount the speaker behind the panel and put the panel back
in place? surely you are not installing a system that is so under
powered (note this *is* 2006) that it can't be heard through some rather
chintzy cardboard door panels ...
maybe you'd be happier taking a look at some of those newer button sized
treble speakers designed to be used with a powered sub woofer mounted
under the seat. i really don't think that in this day and age one needs
to cut 6 x 9 speaker grilles into the upholstery just to have sound in
the passenger compartment.
i mean, if one is considering the value of old door panels in the first
place ...
